Write a letter to your friend describing the event when your father came home with a pet
Dear ABC,
I hope you are keeping a good health. It was interesting to read your last letter about your newly adopted pet. This summer, I also volunteered myself as a bird rescuer and today I am writing this letter sharing my about it.
The summer season is nearing and the temperatures are already soaring high. In some places, the temperatures have crossed 45°C creating unbearable heat waves. Due to the extreme temperatures, the birds are finding it extremely difficult to cope up and survive. In this regard, our school had tied up with the Animal Hospital, Ahmedabad run by Jivdaya Charitable Trust for helping in bird rescue work.
Volunteers like us and from the public domain search and track dehydrated injured or weak birds and bring to the hospital. In the hospital, there are examined and treated by a veterinarian. Extremely injured birds are either sent to the zoo or an educational institute. On an average, 50-60 birds are daily being brought to the hospital. The number of such birds has crossed 2000 for this month so far.
It was a great learning experience for a novice but bird enthusiast like me. Moreover, it also gave a sense of satisfaction to be able to help these lovely creatures. I wish that more and more people take initiative and help these birds survive the heat.
