Write a letter to your friend about your visit to a National Park
Dear ABC,
I hope you are in the best of spirits. After a long time, I went to visit a nearby zoo along with some friends yesterday. Hence, I thought of sharing my experience with you today.
The Nandankanan zoo is spread across an area of 437 hectare and is the second largest zoo in India. The timing for opening of the zoo in the summer season is from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. We had bought our tickets online and were at the venue sharp 8:00 in the morning. There is good arrangement for vehicle parking, ATM and cloak room at the entrance.
It was a good decision to visit the zoo early morning as during that time the animals were more active and also there was relatively less visitors to distract. The zoo had both cages as well as open moat enclosures. We could watch a number of mammals such as tiger, lion, leopard, jackal, bear etc.
The park has a total of four safaris, one each for Tiger, Lion, Bear and Herbivore. We bought a ticket of the Tiger safari. It was a unique experience where we were caged in a safe vehicle while the animals were roaming freely. Nandankanan also has the distinction of witnessing the birth of white tiger from normal colored ones.
We also got to see a variety of animals in the reptile house such as King Cobra, Crocodiles, tortoise to name a few. It was lovely to watch giraffe in their natural habitat and hippopotamus cooling in water shed. There was also boating facility in the Kanjia Lake which I enjoyed the most. A ropeway facility is also being developed which should be operational soon.
The toy train was a special attraction in the zoological park. It covered a circular area of about 1,58 km traversing through hillock area as well as by the side of the lake with herbivores roaming freely. It was great sitting in the train, relaxing and enjoying the scenery around.
It was a memorable trip for me and my friends. I definitely would want to recommend it for a day’s outing. I hope to hear from you soon.
