Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Savitri and I'm a student of Deen Dhayal Upadhyaya Girls’ Hostel in Kaippanchery. I am writing this letter to inform you about food poisoning cases being reported in our hostel.
Yesterday, 11 students of our hostel were ill complaining of vomiting, abdominal pain and nausea. A total of 30 students were present in the hostel during that time. We immediately informed the hostel warden about the matter and all the affected students were admitted in the Taluk Hospital in Sulthanbathery.
The students were starting to have the complications after their breakfast at round 8:00 am. We had puri sabji at breakfast while rice, sambar and chutney at dinner the previous night. The food was prepared by our regular cook at the canteen. Moreover, five students are expected to be discharged today as their conditions are improving.
Proper care should be taken in order to maintain hygienic food preparation, distribution and storage. A thorough investigation needs to be made in order to find the cause of the incident. Therefore, I request you to look into the matter urgently.
