Dear ABC,

I hope you are fine. Recently, I read your letter describing your winter vacation in Kaziranga, Assam. It was delightful to hear about your adventures there. I wish I could join you too. Anyways as you had asked about my winter vacation, I would be more than happy to share my experience with you.

This winter we decided to visit Ooty as our vacation destination. It is a beautiful resort town in Tamil Nadu. Our travel duration in Ooty was for 3 nights and 4 days. We had made the necessary arrangements through a tour operator.

We were received from the Coimbatore Airport by the tour representatives on 25th December afternoon. After a 3 hour drive, we reached the Hotel Guest House at Ooty. We took some rest and spent the rest of the day exploring the main town. Later, we had our dinner and stayed overnight in the hotel.

On 26th December, after having our breakfast in the hotel, we went on a sightseeing tour of the highest mountain in the Nilgiri, the Doddabetta hills. It was a half hour ride from our hotel. The popular tourist attraction with its wonderful forest canopy was a delight to cherish forever. The high point was the observatory on the top of the Doddabetta which had telescopes for public viewing. The view from the top was simply mesmerizing and we also took the opportunity to click some beautiful pictures.

Later, we went to visit the Dolphin Nose point and Sim Park in Coonoor. The name of the Dolphin Nose point place is due to the tip of the peak which resembles a dolphin’s nose. The Catherine falls view from the Dolphin’s Nose is another favorite attraction from the tour. Being a Botany student, the visit to Sim Park was really satisfying. The park is hope to varieties of trees, scrubs, creepers and colorful flowers. After spending the entire day, we returned by evening, took rest and had our dinner.

On 27th December, we set out to explore the Ooty Botanical garden and the famous Ooty Lake. The government Botanical garden is spread across 55 hectares and divided into many sections. A unique feature of the garden was the flower show which was organized by the Horticulture department. The trip to the Ooty lake will leave an everlasting impression on my mind. There were a number of fun activities to do such as boating, horse riding, toy train ride and many more. Honestly speaking, I didn’t get a clue how the whole day went by. We returned to our hotel by late evening and took rest.

Next day, after having breakfast in the Guest house, we left for our 10’oclock flight. I left Ooty with a heavy heart but the prospect of getting to my hometown cheered me up. So, this was our Ooty trip in a nutshell. I hope to catch up with you soon.
