Dear ABC,
To beat the heat
this summer we were planning to visit a hill station and Kodaikanal was the
first choice for our family trip. The
scenic Kodaikanal hill station is famous for its natural beauty in this part of
the country. I was really excited to visit the place as it was my first trip
there.
Kodaikanal lake, a popular tourist attraction, was my favorite destination of the tour. I have fond memories of the early morning trails as well as photography in an around the lake.
The historic Kuzhanthai Velappar Temple in Poombarai village with its peaceful setting was a great place to visit. We also did some shopping from the local vendors outside the temple. I bought some homemade chocolates from the market stalls.
We also had the
good fortune to visit a local strawberry farm. The pictures setting of the
plantation in the middle of the hills was a sight to behold. The owner of the
farm described the process of cultivation of the strawberries in a delightful
full manner.
It was indeed helpful that we traveled during the weekdays because it allowed us to avoid the holiday and weekend rush. I had a great time exploring Kodaikanal and would definitely recommend it for your next visit.
