I am Shahana, a resident of Anna Nagar, Chennai. Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to bring to the attention of the public about the acute water shortage in our area. The shortage of water has become a big problem in our area for the last two months. The problem is going to become even worse in the peak months of summer.

Conserving water using innovative methods is the way to go forward in order to deal with water shortage. Every household must practice rainwater harvesting to harness water. In such a time when we have just 10 days of water left in the City, we must utilize water as judiciously as possible.

I would request the general public to do everything possible in their hands to conserve water on a war footing.
