Dear ABC,

My name is PQR and I am a student of Class 9, Section A, Roll. I am writing this letter to share my experience with fellow students about my experience of participating in an environment protection week.

Taking inspiration from the central flagship program called Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the environment protection week was celebrated in a grand manner from 1^st may to 7^th may this year.

We were lucky to have Dr. Das, an eminent environmentalist of the city to lead the event and give us valuable tips in order to protect the environment.

Dr. Das emphasized on the importance of separation of waste material at home on the basis of biodegradable and non biodegradable wastes. This leads to an organized segregation and no accumulation of garbage heap. The wastes can be stored in separate dustbins for the garbage collector to collect.

Another important tip was to reduce the use of plastics as much as possible in daily life. Plastics, being non biodegradable, last for years and polluting the environment. People can also turn to composting in order to decompose biodegradable wastes which also help in fertilizing their soil for growing plants.

Overall, it was a valuable learning experience by the virtue of participating in the Environment Protection Week. I look forward to many such events in the future and gain knowledge.
