I am (your name), a resident of XYZ locality and active reader of your newspaper. Through the thought provoking columns of your esteemed newspaper, I want to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to the non maintenance of municipal tap for drinking water.

Last year, the municipal department had installed a number of taps for continuous supply of water throughout the city. It was a welcome step as the taps made available drinking water to the common people without any hassle. However, it is sad to see that many of these municipal taps lay non functional after just a year.

A number of these taps can be seen either broken or leaking in a number of places.
