Though not common but there can error in electricity bill due to wrong meter reading. The matter can be communicated to the electricity department to replace the meter. I was shocked to receive the electricity bill for the month of September. It was twice the average amount I was receiving for the last six months. This is absolutely unacceptable as I am sure I have not consumed electricity in excess than what is normal.
The last meter reading was documented as 7654 in the bill for September. On inspecting the current meter reading, I found that it was showing 7554 as of today. There has been a definite error or oversight from your billing department as the current meter reading cannot be lower than the reading for last month. You can verify the same by sending someone for the department.
Therefore, I request you to correct the error in bill for the month of September and adjust it to this month’s bill amount. Xerox copies of the bill for the last six months have been attached for your convenience.
