I am (your name), a resident of XYZ locality and actively associated with ABC NGO. I am writing this letter in order to put focus on the rising unequal wealth distribution in India.

The unequal wealth distribution in India has been brought to the limelight by the World Inequality Report, 2022. According to the report, the distribution of wealth is highly unequal in India with the top 10% and 1% holding 57% and 22% respectively of the total national income while the bottom 50% having a share of just 13% in 2021. This is alarming to say the least and not in the interest of the nation.

A country where the wealth is accumulated in the hands of a few cannot become truly empowered in spirit. The gap between the upper class and the middle class keeps on increasing leading to instability. Unequal wealth distribution affects many aspects of the society including economic, demographic and political.

I would appeal to all concerned that there should be proper and even distribution of wealth among all section of the society. This will lead to stability in the society which in turn should result in a prosperous and developed nation. Proper focus by the government on providing opportunities to the under privileged can do a lot to strengthen their economic status.
