A National park is a place of national pride and must be treated that way. However, it is frequently seen that some reckless tourists behave badly in National parks and deteriorate the calm and peaceful environment. Subject: Bad behavior of tourists in Corbett National Park
Sir/Madam,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities about the terrible behavior of tourists in Corbett National Park. I, along with a group of friends, visited the Jim Corbett National Park from date1 to date2 last month. The condition of the park immediately caught our attention as it was littered with garbage, plastic bags and wrappers. Jim Corbett National Park is a national heritage and it was frustrating to see the tourists disrespect the park in such a manner.
The loudly honking vehicles along with the unnecessarily shouting and screaming people disturbed the peace of the jungle environment. Many tourists openly entered into restricted areas to photograph the animals. Some even threw stones at the resting animals to attract their attention which highlighted their lack of care for the animals.
The animals were mistreated by them in a place where they are supposed to be protected. The forest authorities need to be alerted about the situation for remedial measures. A clean up drive is urgently required in the park for maintenance of the beauty of the park. Offenders should be strictly dealt with heavy fines or even barring their entry. Vehicles with loud horns must not be allowed in the park.
Tourist must be sensitized about how to maintaining discipline in the wildlife before entering. Flashlight causes harm to the eyesight of the animals and must be discouraged. Arrangements must be made for repeat offenders to serve in the community centre. Through the thought provoking columns of your newspaper, I urge the concerned authorities to deal with these miscreants effectively.
Yours Faithfully,
