Dear ABC,

I hope you are doing well it is great to know that we have developed a keen interest in yoga the last couple of months inspire myself into yoga for the last two days I cannot express my happiness to see your interest. I am writing this letter to tell you about my views on yoga and my favourite pranayams.

As far as I understand, yoga does not refer to only the physical healing rather it's a connection of body and soul. As yoga asana is important for increasing flexibility strength or external healing, pranayam too help us to improve our stamina concentration and self confidence. Above all, it helps us to rejuvenate our internal organs and detoxify our body and soul. I would otherwise everybody to do pranayam at least once a day. Even though I practice a number of pranayams, there are a couple of them which are my favorites.

Kapalbharati: It is performed by inhaling deeply through both the nostrils and exhaling forcefully while trying to squeeze your stomach as much as possible. It must be performed for at least 20 minutes and it is important to keep the spine straight in order to get maximum benefit. One must seat in Padma aasan or legs crossed the hand in chin mudra. Kapal bharati helps in controlling mood swing and minor anxiety, energizes your nerve, give proper supply of oxygen to brain and helps in abdominal pain.

Anulom vilom: It is performed with eyes closed while sitting in padmasana. First, one must close the right nostril with the right thumb and inhale deeply with the left nostril. Next, hold the breath for a few seconds so that there is proper oxygen flow throughout the body. Then, close the left nostril with the right thumb and exhale as slowly as possible through the right nostril. Continue, the same process vice versa. It must be practised for a minimum of 20 minutes for benefit. Anulom vilom helps in strengthening the lungs, increasing concentration level, improving digestion and reducing stress level.

I prefer to do the pranayams early in the morning. Generally, within six months of continuous practice, it starts to show results. Our body is like a plant. Just as a plant requires care and nurture for its proper growth, so does our body. No matter how busy you are, you must take out sometime for yourself. If you give a little time to your body it will return the favor in multiples so that you can enjoy the beauty of life thoroughly. So, I always suggest everyone to start practicing and value life before it's too late.

                                                                                                Yours Truly,
