                                              I, [Name], am a resident of [Address]. I would like to express my concern regarding the menace of paid news and its impact on the society through your newspaper column. This culture of favoring a particular person or a particular idea by media outlets in return for payment has been widely spreading in the society. This malpractice is at the very heart of paid news. Rampant misuse of the power has been done by the media houses to bolster the image of particular politicians/celebs that they favor or bring down personalities whom they don’t like.

                                                But, the irony is: Don’t they get it that it’s so damn obvious? The media houses engaged in such malpractices must know that you can’t take general public for a ride always. Eventually, words do spread that a particular channel always favors a particular person or idea by forwarding a particular set of arguments and as soon as things turn around, they change the narrative and arguments to forward their agenda. This blatant hypocrisy must stop if they want to survive in the news business because money does not help in the long run, viewers and fan base does.  You get viewers and fan base by being honest to them and not taking them for a ride! Otherwise you lose your credibility.

                                                It is such a shame that the ethics of journalists have stooped to such low. Paid news hinders the natural process of judgment forming by the public by promoting half-baked truth. It is a dangerous thing to do as it misleads the public. Often the subject matters are of serious nature and thus have the possibility of going against the interest of the nation.
