Dear Sir/Madam,
I am Asha, a resident of Rukmini Nagar, New Delhi. I am writing this letter to bring to your kind attention about the encroachment of the main road by illegal street vendors.
Around 150 to 200 Street vendors are illegally occupying the footpath of the main road in the centre of our town without any authorization. Without any designated pending zones, these street hawkers create havoc on the street by blocking the main road irrationally. As a result, the regular pedestrians have to suffer regular blockage as well as risk freak accidents.
Appropriate measures such as phase wise eviction should be taken by the municipal authorities to clear the main road of these vendor encroachments. This would ensure free movement of people as well as vehicle in the deeply congested town center.
Therefore, I would request you to look into the matter to provide a permanent solution. I hope the footpath gets cleared of the motor mechanics and shopkeepers at the earliest for the benefit of our locality.
