Misplacement or theft of a self cheque of a bank can be cause of great worry for the client. Any person with malicious intent with the self cheque cans encash the cheque with fraudulent means. I, (Your Name), hold a savings account in your reputed bank with account number (number) since five years. I am writing this letter to inform you about stopping payment of self cheque.

On 5^th January, I was supposed to deposit a check duly signed by me in your branch. The check of 20000 rupees had a check number 773654XXX.

Unfortunately during my commute to your branch, I lost my bag containing the self cheque. In this regard, I request you to kindly make sure that no encashment is done for the above mentioned cheque.
