Dear Sir/Madam,

I, (Your Name), hold a savings account in your reputed bank with account number (number) since five years. I am writing this letter to inform you about stopping payment of self cheque.

On 5th January, I was supposed to deposit a check duly signed by me in your branch. The check of 20000 rupees had a check number 773654XXX.

Unfortunately during my commute to your branch, I lost my bag containing the self cheque. In this regard, I request you to kindly make sure that no encashment is done for the above mentioned cheque.

This is for your kind information and necessary action.

Thanking you,
                                                                                            Yours truly,
